Field program terms
These are draft terms to start the conversation. They aren't a contract. Before the first exercise, each partner team and MeshCovey sign a short written agreement, and that agreement governs.
Who it's for
Search-and-rescue teams, fire and EMS agencies, and emergency management offices in Arizona. The program runs during 2027, and we'll take on a small number of partner teams so each one gets real attention.
What we do together
- Joint training exercises with your team, in real terrain, day and night, scheduled around your calendar.
- A short debrief after each exercise, so your feedback shapes the next version.
- You decide how many exercises your team takes part in and can skip any of them.
Training, not live missions
- MeshCovey is used in training exercises only. It isn't used on a live search unless both sides agree in writing and your team's own procedures allow it.
- Your team stays in charge of its people and its search plan. MeshCovey staff don't direct searches.
- MeshCovey is in development. Treat what it shows as test results, not as a reason to change how you clear ground.
Safety and flight rules
- All flights follow FAA rules, airspace restrictions and the land manager's permissions for the site.
- Early exercises fly one pilot per drone. Multi-drone exercises fly under the partner agency's FAA authorization, or under our own FAA waiver once we hold one.
- MeshCovey operates and maintains its own aircraft and equipment, and is responsible for them during exercises.
- Any participant can stop a flight for safety at any time, no questions asked.
Data from exercises
- Flight logs, imagery and coverage maps from your exercises are shared with your team.
- We use exercise data to test and improve MeshCovey.
- We won't publish imagery of identifiable people, or name your team or agency, without your written permission.
- Results are shared with partner teams first.
No strings attached
- Joining doesn't commit your team or agency to buy anything.
- Either side can leave the program at any time by letting the other know.
